Early Footage


Our collection includes over 300 films from The Library of Congress Paper Prints. These are the only extant copies of many short items (from 30 seconds upwards) recorded between 1895 Р1915. They include footage of the immigration to USA; industrialisation; railroads; recreation; amusement parks; Spanish American War; Alaskan gold rush; San Francisco before and after the 1906 earthquake; vaudeville and stage acts; world fairs and expositions;  daily life, including street scenes from european cities, entertainment, inventions, stunts and human interest.
